Prof. Richter remembers his doctoral supervisor, mentor, and fatherly friend, Prof. Walter Karten.
Prof. Emeritus Walter Karten passed away on 29 June 2026 at the age of 91. As a long-serving professor at the University of Hamburg, he had a lasting influence on insurance research in Germany and on several generations of scholars.
